Competitor Registration
We require competitors to register for each of the following three event types – Piping, Dancing or Heavy Events. Please see below for more information.
Piping
All pipers must be registered before the Piping draw takes place at 12 noon to determine the order for the competitions. Late arrivals will only be admitted at the discretion of the judges and will be inserted into the playing order at a position of the judge’s selection. All piping entries received in advance will be entered into the draw even if the competitor is not present at draw – traffic can be an issue during the summer months so we advise pipers travelling long distances to take advantage of the pre-registration option.
To pre-register for piping competitions, please email your details including which competition(s) you wish to enter (Piobeareachd, Light Music or both) to secretary@arisaighighlandgames.co.uk before the day of the Games.
Pipers can also register at the secretary’s tent up until the draw at 12 noon.
The junior competitions will start at around 1pm with a draw being made around 12:30pm at the Secretary’s tent.
Dancing
All dancers are required to register before competitions begin around 1pm. Dancers can register by reporting direct to the dancing steward at the stage to register and discuss arrangements for the competitions.
Heavy Events
All competitors report to event stewards on the field by 12:30, with the first event generally taking place between 12:30 & 1pm.
Track & Field / Junior Races
We do not require registration for any of the Track & Field events, or for any of the junior races. These events will be called by the announcer over the PA system and will ask anyone wanting to take part to make their way to the stewards at the starting line for each event.
The children’s races usually start around 1pm, followed by adult track events. The hill race and field events take place later in the afternoon.
